Privacy policy

Last updated 14 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data ClapGig collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to connect artists and crew with people who are hiring.

What we collect

  • —Account details: your name, email address and password (stored securely by our authentication provider — we never see your password).
  • —Profile details you choose to add: photo, headline, city, bio, skills, languages, credits, showreel and social links, and casting details such as playing age, gender and height.
  • —Private contact details: your phone number, which is never shown on your public profile.
  • —Activity on ClapGig: jobs you post, apply to or save, applications and their status, messages and notifications.
  • —Basic technical data needed to run the service securely, such as log data from our hosting provider.

How we use it

  • —To run your account and show your public profile to people looking for talent.
  • —To let recruiters review applications, shortlist artists and message them.
  • —To send you service notifications about applications, shortlists and messages.
  • —To keep the platform safe — for example, reviewing reported listings and removing accounts that ask artists for money.

We do not sell your personal data.

What is public

Your public profile (name, photo, headline, city, bio, skills, languages, credits, links and casting details) can be seen by anyone. Your email address and phone number are not public. Recruiters see the note you add when you apply to their job.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run ClapGig: Supabase for our database, authentication and file storage, and Vercel for hosting. Your data may be processed on their servers outside India, under their security and data-protection commitments.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, and withdraw consent. You can edit most of your data directly from your profile. You can delete your account yourself from Edit profile → Delete account. For any other request, write to hello@clapgig.com.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and personal data, except where we must keep limited records to comply with law or resolve disputes.

Children

ClapGig accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Roles for child artists must be handled by a parent or legal guardian through their own account.

Grievances

If you have a concern about how we handle your data, write to grievance@clapgig.com. We aim to respond within 7 working days.

Changes

We may update this policy. If we make significant changes, we will let you know on the site or by email.
